Come backstage with me at London Collections Men AW16 as I take a look at the latest grooming trends…

I can’t believe another season of LCM has been and gone! It’s always such a blast and over too soon. There were plenty of grooming goings on behind the scenes at the shows, so I headed backstage with the Bumble and Bumble and Fudge Hair teams to see what styles us gents will be rocking come autumn time.

I’ll be covering looks more in depth later in the year, but it was nice to see some of the super-slick styles of previous seasons starting to relax. Those perfectly coiffed quiffs are staring to fall and curl at the ends-shown perfectly at Pieter-and the wet-look styles are also keeping pace; still to extremes that I hope doesn’t catch on, but the high-shine finish is definitely a trend to take up.

There was definitely a heavy push towards texture, working with the model’s natural hair styles and working them into the relevant look. Salt Spray was the product at choice at multiple shows and there was numerous uses of prepping tonics - highlighting a need to truly care for your hair when styling; think intense blow-drying etc.

There were still a lot of retro influences, harking back to The Beatles (as well as closer-to-home 90s influences thanks to Noel and Liam Gallagher), shown at Casely-Hayford.

Massive thanks to the Bumble and Bumble and Fudge Hair teams for having me along.
