With ethical fashion gaining ground over the last few years, more brands are seeking to improve their output through better, eco-friendly fabrics and people-friendly processes.

Over the past five years, ethical label Veja has fought the good fight – promoting new methods of work in the construction of goods by utilising ecological inputs, fair trade cotton/latex and respecting workers’ dignity.

Born from the musing of the question: is another world possible? Veja has established a global production chain that highlights solidarity and the environment, from the “the small producers in Brazil to the European concept stores at final output.”

One way that Veja puts its mantra into practice is through its use of eco-tanned leather. This leather is tanned using vegetable extracts such as Acacia, rather than chromium or other heavy metal based procedures, which results in a decrease in water pollution surrounding the tannery plant.

Born out of a desire to give something back to the charity that helped him as a child, Mercy & Wild is the creation of British model Issac Carew.

Founded in collaboration with friend and marketing guru Ty Akingbola, Mercy & Wild offers a collection of unique graphic t-shirts, which aim to “transcend current trends” and provide season-less styles that will have you reaching into you wardrobe time and time again.

After receiving help from Dyslexia Action as a child, Issac wished to do something that would in turn be able to help other young people who are struggling to manage their condition.
