Hey guys, hope you’re having a great week so far wherever you are! One question I get asked a lot is what the best places to buy men’s grooming products from are, and my usual answer is that there is no one place. I love trying different products, mixing it up and seeking out new brands, so I mix up where I buy from. But for those of you who are unsure, here are some of my the best places to buy men’s grooming products in my opinion.
In 2017 ASOS re-launched their beauty and grooming offering with ASOS Face + Body. The cross-category range covers skincare, makeup, haircare and more for both men and women. The brand promotes a gender-fluid/express yourself/do it your way mentality that embraces the artistry of the beauty industry. The offering includes icons as well the new and niche brands, all within a price point to suit a variety of budgets.
So I am relatively new to Beast, having only come across them I was invited to an event hosted by Lynx which happened to be in the basement of the Beast store in Seven Dials, London. The store is cool and totally slick, bringing together over 80 premium brands. What I love about the store is that it’s merchandised the same as its website; everything is ordered by category, not brand. So you shop by Body, Hair, Shave, Face and Fragrance, finding only the best of that category on the shelf.
I’m a big fan of the beauty and grooming offering at Harvey Nichols, and that’s not because of a bias from having worked there. The HN edit is well-placed and eclectic, and they get a lot of great exclusives like Fenty Beauty and House 99 by David Beckham, but one of the main drivers for me is the brand’s Rewards programme. Totally app based, Rewards by Harvey Nichols allows you to collect points on purchases which are then given back to you in the form of ‘Rewards’, including cash vouchers, products and dining experiences. It’s a no-brainer, buying products form them pays you back later with the chance to get more for free! They also offer regular ‘Benefits’ that are often beauty and grooming related, from exclusive gifts with purchase to treatments, preview samples of new products and more, depending on your programme tier. So, it’s a great way to try out new brands.
Mankind offers a huge range of men’s grooming products, from Bath and Body to Dental and Skincare. It mixes commercial, well-known brands with the new and niche. Their mantra is to make grooming a fuss-free experience, aware that men find the prospect for approaching a store assistant for help quite daunting. They also have a great blog that offers a range of guides, brand focuses and tutorial, including video how-tos and an interview with yours truly.
Now, obviously there are other brands like Boots and Amazon, the big hitters that offer ease of access and affordability, but these brands are the ones I go to for the latest info and launches. They offer a more boutique, niche edit of brands that aren’t super commercial.
