For part two I am going to go a bit time lord on you all and tell you about the next two shows I attended during the weekend, then finish with the mid-weekend party on The Selfridges Rooftop I got to attend, hosted by Tinie Tempah, as it was really the big finale for me.
So, as we were all aware, from the 15th-17th June the first ever London Collections: Men took place in our fair capital, and what a weekend it was. The sheer coverage and hype over the event was incredible with the whose who of fashion world coming out to play in their finest.
I was so fortunate to be invited to some of the shows and I thought I would share some of my goings on.
With the Olympic influence stronger than ever in the SS12 collections, a trend that has followed through to AW12, the introduction of technical fabrics into everyday wear is rife. Givenchy, Raf Simons, Acne, Lanvin and Paul Smith all showcased collections full of sport-inspired designs including shorts and anoraks, constructed form fabrics with purpose.
Now, as many of you know, I also now write for the awesome FashionBeans.com. I realised the other day I wasn’t linking to the articles on here, which was mean, as I should make it easy for you!
Here are the latest bunch from the last couple months, more en route that I will flag when they publish. Enjoy.
I’m Neil, a London-based editor (by day) and blogger (in the gaps between!) and here’s where you’ll find out what I get up to.
