I do love a new scent. Long gone are the days when I used to do the ‘signature scent’ thing. I love having new fragrances to try and I like to change it up for different occasions. It’s like some sort of olfactory schizophrenia; you just don’t know which one you’re going to get with me. So with that in mind, keep reading to discover 5 new men’s fragrances worthy of a whiff.
1. Trussardi, Uomo Red
Uomo Red is a real departing from the usual scents of Trussardi. While always great, Trussardi fragrances, for me, are always a bit too classic and old. But Uomo Red is a younger, more elegant scent that still retains the brand’s signature masculinity.
The bottle is a deep red hue and comes presented in a velvety red box – opulent much! I really like this fragrance and I found myself wearing it the most probably out of this top five.
Lemon, Nutmeg, Galbanum, Cognac
Geranium, Violet Leaf, Clary Sage
Tonka Bean, Patchouli, Leather
2. Eight & Bob, Mémoires de Mustique
The latest incarnation from Eight & Bob, Mémoires de Mustique , is a reflection of the founders love of the Bahamas.
Mémoires de Mustique scent is born from the encounter between a masterpiece of Albert Fouquet and the reminiscences of the magnificent and exclusive island of Mustique through its crystalline waters, the eternity of its sunsets and its landscapes unchanged throughout history. A trip to the past to capture its essence in its purest form. —Eight & Bob
Bergamot, Petitgrain, Neroli
Orange Blossom, Sambac Jasmine, Osmanthus
Amber, Precious Woods, White Musk
If you saw my previous post about Eight & Bob and the brands incredible history, then you know already that I’m a fan, and this latest addition to the line up is another winner for me.
3. Evody, Onde 7
A new addition to Evody’s Collection d’Ailleurs, Onde 7 is an addictive unisex scent, channelling the ancient Egyptian art of Kyphi, a perfumery tradition of creating scents with hypnotic qualities; inspiring a sense of hope and well-being.
The bottle for this scent is beautiful, the wood cap and dark body make it a great addition to any shelf. My only gripe with was how impossible it is to get the box out of its display sleeve! I had to tear the sleeve off completely to get at it (although the final display box is actually rather beautiful – great gift idea klaxon!).
Blue Ginger, Narcissus, Honey
Beeswax Absolute, Tonka Bean, Gaiac Wood, Cinnamon
Patchouli, Sandalwood, Castoreum, Labdanum
4. Salvatore Ferragamo, UOMO
This new release form Ferragamo is set to become the bastian of its fragrance offering. A modern take on a gourmand fragrance, UOMO features notes of tiramisu in its heart . Fans of rich, sweet and masculine fragrances like Givenchy Play Intense will love this scent.
A sense of elegance and beauty. All the optimism and joy of a real smile. The ability to be modern, yet also timeless; to seize the day. All of this is part of the story of Uomo Salvatore Ferragamo, the new fragrance for men. A potion of pure Italian style. —Zadig & Voltaire
Black Pepper, Cardamom and Bergamot
Tiramisu, Orange Blossom and Ambroxan
Cashmere Wood, Sandalwood and Tonka bean
5. Zadig & Voltaire, This is Him!
A tale of two halfs, ‘This is Him!’ is one part of a double release from Zadig & Voltaire, the other half being ‘This is Her!’ the women’s fragrance – both bottles being designed to fit together in coital unison under the title of ‘This is Zadig!’. The French house is known for it’s edgy aesthetic; think rock guys and boho girls underpinned with nuances of sex appeal and effortless coolness.
This dark and woody scent’s note complex is simple compared to the others in this list, which is nice to see. It’s straight to the point, opening with grapefruit and black pepper (a personal fave). This is Him! shares its heart with its female counterpart with notes of vanilla giving it a sweet and delicate twist while the moody incense and base note of sandalwood sets the final tone. It’s a great fragrance for guys looking for something young but masculine without an overwhelmingly commercial feel.
Grapefruit, Black Pepper
