While in Mexico, my only problem was severely underestimating the temperatures and the amount of sun I would be exposed to. I had definitely not packed enough sun protection. Thankfully I was given a gift pack from Uriage to help me look after my skin in the heat of the day. I’d never come across Uriage before, but I have been mightily impressed with their range!

Founded in 1992, Uriage was the first dermo-cosmetic skincare brand specialising in using Thermal Water in its products. Uriage aims to meet the needs of sensitive skin thanks to its internationally renowned dermatological expertise.

Now with over 20 years of knowledge behind them, Uriage Dermatological Laborites create products in collaborations with the world’s most renowned dermatologists and pharmacists. All products are also put through rigorous clinical testing to ensure their efficacy - their products are all hypoallergenic, non-comedogenic, paraben-free, and with a minimum concentration of preservatives to better respect your sensitive skin.

I was given four products to use; a SPF50+, After Sun cream, Thermal Water spray and a cleanser.

I was so exposed to the sun for such long periods, the SPF50+ was a god send. After the first day with a lower SPF, I layered on the 50 with my SPF6 tanning oil, which was enriched with Vitiman E and coconut oil to help em get a darker tan while offering the highest level of protection.

The cleanser was perfect for the end of the day, it’s super light and didn’t dry my skin - always be careful when washing your face after sun exposure, a lot of cleansers and washes can dry your skin, which will only encourage peeling - and I used it on my shoulders and arms too in the shower.

As you can imagine, due to the heat I pretty much managed to use the whole bottle of this in the three days. It’s so important to keep your skin hydrated when exposed to the sun. Uriage’s After Sun is the perfect consistency for use all over the body. I used it full-body morning and night and re applied a few times a day to the exposed skin.

I’ve never used a Thermal Water spray before, I must admit I have always found them rather gimmicky. But I have to say this was a life saver. Out in 35 degree heat with no shade, spraying this across my skin made me happier than ever. It’s so refreshing and cooling. It obviously wont last long, so use it wisely!

Uriage isn’t unfortunately available in widely in the UK, but can be picked up on Amazon. They are stocked in over 70 countries worldwide, find your nearest point of sale here.
