So as I’m writing this I am packing for a whirlwind trip to Mexico for work. But I wanted to share with you some of the men’s holiday grooming essentials I take with me.

Skin and hair are your obvious focuses, but it’s worth thinking about a few extras as it’s good to be prepared. I like to add in eye cream, the mandatory sunscreen (even if it’s to a non-sunny place) and fragrance.

It’s a pretty straight forward selection process, the key is finding everything in manageable sizes!

So what’s in my wash bag?

Moisturiser
A must-have for obvious reasons. Wellman’s moisturiser is the perfect travel size for weekends away or longer trips. Sometimes if I’ll decanter it into an even smaller tub if I’m only away a short time and want to save on space.
Eye Serum
My saving grace, I can’t go anywhere without it. I use Wellman’s Under Eye Serum when I’m away as it’s so neat and small. If I’m going long-haul it will be Radical’s Eye serum.
Sunscreen
Radical’s Sun Protector is one of my favourite on the market, I use this for my face only as it’s easily absorbed without leaving chalky marks that whiten your face. I also fund that unlike with other face suncare, I don’t breakout or get oily form using it. I then use Ambre Solaire on my body.
Hair styling
I normally take a couple of options here, depending on my hair length as it can get quite unruly. Fudge Blow Dry Putty
is great for when I am parting my hair with a quiff as it’s light and blow dries into shape with ease. Otherwise a light pomade like Ruffians or Aveda’s Pure-Formance Pomade work wonders if you have wavier hair. Uppercut Deluxe’s Pomade is also a dream. Water based, it’s dries with a wet look - it does go rock solid but washes out at the touch of water.
Deodorant stick
If I’m travelling I always opt for a roll-on or stick deodorant like this one form ManCave. It’s just easier and less hassle getting through security at the airport. It also means you can keep it on you for long haul situations in you carry-on (if under 100ml!).
Fragrance
Now, if you have never heard of, or own, an atomiser - GET ONE. They are one of the ebst things I have ever owen. IT allows you to take your favourite fragrances with you, without taking the huge heavy bottles. Maison Francis Kurkdjian do their own Globe Trotter metal ones - it just looks so slick in your kit bag and you can swap out the custom-shaped vials. If you want even more flexibility you can by generic atomisers online that you pump the fragrance into, and can swap between fragrances.
Bath & Body care
After being introduced to them last year, British label Scaramouche & Fandango are fast becoming my go-to for all-encompassing grooming. They have this awesome Travel Pack with moisturiser, body gel, shampoo and shaving cream - all with a see-through bag to carry it in! It’s the perfect choice for any length of trip, just to get you through the long week end, or to keep you covered as you settle in to a new area on longer trips away.
