Check out the menswear goodies I found down at Jigsaw Old Spitalfields Market.
I love Old Spitalfields Market, it’s one of my favourite places in London, the eclectic mix of shops and restaurants as well as the juxtaposition of modern, shiny glass buildings towering above the old-school bricks and mortar below. It’s a vibrant hub in the heart of the East End.
I was recently invited down to check out some of the best menswear offerings available, including making a visit to the gorgeous Jigsaw menswear store. Jigsaw is pretty new to me, I was aware that they had a menswear line but I had never really spend much time looking at it, so I was excited to go and see what they had to offer.
Located on the northern side of the market square, the Jigsaw store is a small but stylish shop with beautifully dressed windows. Inside, the smart and well laid out space is inviting and the addition of a few comfy sofas for those waiting for others to try on their garbs goes a long way too.
The collection is clean and focused; it’s quintessentially British and full of easy-to-wear looks for everyone. The brand celebrates everything that is British, the Jigsaw man may be a world traveller, with 50s Havana influences seen throughout, but his heart will forever be at home on Albion shores.
There is a clear focus on heritage styles and shapes with modern textures to add a new twist, like iconic Derby shoes in tactile scotchgrain leather and crisp suits in seersucker.
Key pieces included updated Harrington jackets in micro dot prints and bomber jackets with button fastenings, all crafted from luxury fabrics. The classic navy Harrington jacket with contrast lining being a particular favourite, see me in it below.
Outerwear is a really strong area for Jigsaw, I think I must have picked up about five styles while in the shop that would I would have bought in a heartbeat, including this gorgeous Harris Tweed coat. I love the understated velvet collar, it just gives it the most luxury finish possible.
There are plenty of staples on offer too, from soft cotton Oxford shirts, to bold Breton stripes on tops.
The staff in Jigsaw are also worth mentioning, friendly, incredibly knowledgeable and welcoming, they were the icing on the cake for the afternoon.
