Last week I attended the launch of the new Hyperglide razor from King of Shaves. A revolutionary new system, the Hyperglide uses patented new technology, designed in house, that means the razor doesn’t use the iconic lubrastrip on the cartridge.

The lubrastrip has been commonplace of razors for decades, but the Hyperglide “features a unique patented superhydrophilic self-lubricating cartridge that creates its own slippery HydroGel over the entire front shaving surface when it comes into contact with water.”

Yup, you heard correctly, just add water! No shaving foam or gel – just you, the razor and water. The cartridge also features an additional trimming blade on the back for beards and goatees and King of Shaves’ patented bendy head for maximum precision – known as ‘Bendology Technology’.

Taking a look at the new Hyperglide in details, the cartridge features a redesigned open architecture blade rack to aid in the minimising of clogging along with even narrower blades for increased comfort and precision. There’s also a new one-push release button so attaching and removing the cartridge couldn’t be easier as well as a non-slip, ergonomic grip as part of the new part-alloy handle.

The King of Shaves plans to shave the men of the world with the Hyperglide, coming to the rescue of time-pressed men everywhere.
