Continuing the current  penchant for pants seen at TheScienceofAppearance.com, there was simply no way I couldn’t share with you one of the most talked about bodywear campaigns in fashion. Queue David Beckham for H&M Bodywear.

For SS13, Beckham is back, and this time in a hotly anticipated new campagin, directed by Guy Ritchie, that sees the footballing ace chart his local terrain as a modern-day action hero in nothing but his namesake trunks and a pair of old-man slippers. Queue giddy excitement.

“David makes the perfect leading man” says Guy Ritchie. “For me this felt like more than a campaign, it was like directing a short film.”

Set to the soundtrack of ‘Don’t Stop’ by Foster the People (downlaod form iTunes here), after accidentally having his robe shut in the car door, which contains his departing family, the short film sees Beckham, initially in vest and trunks, chasing down the car, hoping over walls, dodging guard dogs and there’s a few footy tricks through in for good measure.

To spice things up a bit, we see Beckham loose his vest as he clambers through bushes and then, if your heart wasn’t racing enough by now, Beckham goes for a swim across a neighbour’s pool. We assume this was to show the product’s versatility. Yeah, versatility  Queue gratuitous  heart-stopping bum shot.

“Working with Guy has been a fantastic experience” says Beckham. ” I hope everyone has as much fun watching the film as I had making it.”
