Dune High Summer 2013 Press Day

February 24, 2013 by Neil Thornton No Comments

This week I had the pleasure of attending the Dune High Summer ’13 press day down at their press office on South Moulton St. I love heading out to see the Dune PR girls (say hi on twitter), they’re such a great bunch of girls, and what better way to pass a lunch break than talking about shoes! (Albeit with a bit of Beyoncé ticket madness thrown in for good measure!)

The new men’s collection at Dune is a breath of fresh air; an injection of colour, classics reworks in sweet pastels and harder-line styles reworked in summer weaves makes the collection stand out as note-worthy summer offering. The inclusion of the staple sandals and flip-flop styles means there is something for all warm-weather occasions.

With some styles in store now and others on their way through till April, the prices range to suit any budget. Prices are indicated if known.

These Boyish suede Derby shoes are probably my favourite of the collection, and most likely my next footwear purchase! Suede is a great choice for polished summer style, lighter on the eye than leather, this pared-down style will be a hardworking addition to your wardrobe, paired with jeans or short, shirts or tees. Priced at £70

Also available in navy

The collection also sees a wide range of plimsoles, boat shoes and sandal styles that are perfect for the poolside or strolls on the sand.

The leather varieties are given a summer-twist in cut-out and basket-weave finishes offering a lighter option for the summer.

Dune’s iconic formal styles are given a summer-spin with signature style, Braxton, given a beautiful rework in pastel colours. Still given the same quality finish as the original with punched detailing and smooth leather sole, the yellow colourway is definitely my choice for an instant color pop.

There is a real tactile nature to the range with texture being a key ingredient, classic two-tone styles were crafted from mixed suede and leather panels. Paired with the cut-outs, punch detail and woven leathers, Dune’s lastest offering begs to touched, lord knows I will be.
